What a blessing it was to be teaching the 4 & 5's class on Easter and going through the whole story, only to resound in a loud shout from a dozen tiny voices- "He's Alive!" Christ died, and then overcame...and He did it all for love- for us.

In the late afternoon on Saturday, we finally got around to dipping a few eggs. It's funny to see how the kids perceive this activity as they get older. Sis still GREATLY enjoys it, being so crafty and all. The older boys, I think, are still nostalgic about it, but finding that getting to the end of their portion is a welcome relief. Rayzer made sure ALL of his were his favorite color, which proved difficult since red egg dye ultimately results in a rather blazing pink...but we humored him and convinced him that they were "red enough".


We enjoyed a lovely Easter afternoon in the sunny Carolinas with dinner at our friends from church. They have a really neat front porch swing that I think we all could've passed the day away on.

However, we couldn't be in the swing all day- there were kites to be flown! We weren't sure there would be enough breeze, but it turned out there was PLENTY. Sis's kite (as well as one of our friends' children) took off from the spool and met with the heavens somewhere. Thankfully we brought a couple of extras so not all was lost. This tradition was bittersweet this year, as it was a tradition of Great-Gma J who passed this winter. We have every intention of remembering her in this special way each year.
